CDS
Combined Defence Services or CDS examination is conducted to recruit candidates in the Indian Armed forces. Aspirants willing to become a part of Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Officers Training Academy, and Indian Air Force Academy can apply for the CDS exam and chase their dream career, like NDA exam, Combined Defence Services Examination is conducted twice a year UPSC. Candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) after qualifying CDS exam and after that, successful candidates will be appointed with their respective training academies.
There are five academies for which the candidates are selected:–
- Indian Military Academy ( IMA Dehradun )
- Air Force Academy ( AFA Hyderabad )
- Indian Naval Academy ( INA Ezhimala ( Kerala )
- Officers Training Academy (OTA Chennai )

Educational Qualification :
- For Indian Military Academy / Officer’s Training Academy : – Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- For Indian Naval Academy : – Degree in Engineering from a recognized university/ institution.
- For Indian Air Force Academy : – Degree of a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.
Age Limit :
- Indian Military Academy – 19-24 years
- Air Force Academy – 19- 24 years
- Naval Academy – 19- 24 years
- Officer’s Training Academy – 19-24 years
Written Exam Duration :-
2 Hours For Each Paper.
